general course list
The following is a list of courses offered at Northwestern that count toward the SHC adjunct major or minor. But please note that students may count other classes that do not appear here so long as they clear this with the SHC director. Among these courses are appropriate freshman seminars, junior-year tutorials, and professional linkage seminars, as well as myriad other courses offered for credit at Northwestern and in approved study-abroad programs. Two rules of thumb prevail: 1) the class cannot be a science class that offers a narrow, problem-set approach, and 2) the class must treat science, medicine, or technology in context.
